I am a Social Worker, Advocate, and Therapist.
I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I attended the Joint Master of Social Work Program, which is a collaboration between NC A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I graduated with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in 2005. This was an advanced generalist program that is accredited by the Council for Social Work Education (CSWE).
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of North Carlina, Virginia, Florida, and Texas. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia (DC). I am also able to provide clinical services, via telehealth, in the state of South Carolina. I have been a practicing independent therapist for a little over 17 years.
I have completed extensive training in all the areas in which I provide services. Some of the training that I have completed include:
- Duke-UNC Comprehensive Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training. This is an intense, accredited training program that prepares clinicians to become certified specialists in the evidence-based treatment of tobacco use and dependence.

- Advanced Training in completion of Immigration Evaluations through the Immigration Evaluation Training Center as well as the Physicians for Human Rights’ Asylum Clinic Training.
- Extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused techniques in the treatment of mood/depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorders, as well as serving refugee and immigrant survivors of torture and trauma
- Basic EMDR Training Certificate ( LeBeau Love, PLLC a EMDRIA Approved Trainer)
- Completion of several specialized trainings on working with military culture and best practices with Star Behavioral Health Providers
- Completion of 30 hrs as required by the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Organization (IGCCB). Currently working on certification to become an International Certified Gambling Counselor I (ICGC-I).
